Saks Fifth Avenue has a longstanding tradition of giving back to the communities where we do business. We believe it is our responsibility to improve the communities that make our business possible. Not only do we support many globally known causes and national initiatives, but we also encourage local outreach throughout our company.
Saks Fifth Avenue has conducted a new pilot program that gives salaried Associates the option to take a paid “Day of Giving,” in support of their favorite local charities and community organizations. In reviewing initial feedback from this pilot, we’ve found that this program provides a hands-on way for Associates to give back while also building morale among their team. Our goal is to be able to create similar experiences for more hourly and full-time Associates in the future.
On a corporate basis, we support numerous charities including Key to the Cure and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Many of our individual locations also have their own efforts in place toward giving back to their communities. Our Associates are active in fundraising drives, walks and races, and other initiatives that add up to significant charitable donations to a number of organizations including the United Way, Women in Need, American Heart Association and others. In fact, as a Company, we’ve raised over $10 million for various charitable organizations over the last five years alone.
